How long can you play for?
Our standard booking is usually sets of 3 x 45 minutes, but we are flexible and can tailor the length of our performance to fit your wedding timeline, drinks reception, corporate event schedule, or bespoke requirements.
Do you perform outdoors?
Yes, we regularly perform outdoors for garden weddings, receptions, and outdoor ceremonies. We simply need appropriate cover to ensure the safety of our instruments and a stable, dry surface to perform on.
What do you need on the day?
We keep our setup simple. We bring our own instruments and music stands. All we require is:
Adequate space for three or four musicians
Armless chairs
For outdoor performances, we just need suitable shelter from direct sun, wind, or rain to protect our instruments. We usually play acoustically, but if you would like us amplified please get in touch to discuss this further.
Do you have Public Liability Insurance?
Yes. We hold full Public Liability Insurance up to £10 million, meeting the requirements of all major wedding venues and corporate event spaces across the UK.
How far in advance should we book?
We recommend getting in touch as early as possible, especially for summer weddings, Christmas events, and peak weekends. However, we’re always happy to accommodate last-minute bookings where possible, so do contact us even if your date is soon.
Can we request specific songs?
Yes! Our repertoire includes classical favourites, film music, jazz standards, and modern chart hits, making us ideal for weddings and events needing a versatile string group. If you’d like a song that isn’t already in our collection, we can often create a bespoke arrangement especially for your event.
Who are The London String Trio and Quartet?
The London String Trio & Quartet are a professional string ensemble based in London, offering both string trio and string quartet options for weddings, corporate events, and private functions. We are a close-knit group of musicians who studied together at music college and have been performing as a dedicated ensemble for over 20 years. We’re not just colleagues - we’re long-standing friends, and that strong musical connection creates the tight, expressive sound we’re known for.
Do you only perform as a trio & quartet?
No. In addition to our core trio and quartet, we also provide a sextet or octet, ideal for larger spaces, grand weddings, and events needing a fuller, richer sound. You can choose the ensemble that best matches your event style, venue size, and preferred repertoire.
Do you use deputies or hire-in musicians?
We do not operate as a rotating roster or agency-style group. We normally perform as the main line-up featured in our videos, ensuring clients see exactly who they are booking. If a player is ever unavailable, we only work with a very small, trusted pool of musicians—colleagues we’ve known personally for many years and regularly perform with. This guarantees a polished, cohesive performance at every event.
Are you an agency?
No, we are not an agency, and we do not charge any agency fees or commissions. When you book The London String Trio, you deal directly with the musicians who will be performing at your event. This keeps our pricing transparent and ensures a personal, reliable service.

We are highly experienced professional musicians who regularly perform with many of the UK’s leading orchestras, appear in major West End theatre productions, and collaborate with well-known artists across pop, classical, and film music. Our musicians frequently feature on television broadcasts, studio recordings, live tours, and soundtracks. We bring this world-class experience to every wedding, corporate event, and private performance.
